Boggus Ford in McAllen is the first official paid entry in this year’s Fajita Cookoff scheduled for October 4-5 at the new McAllen Convention Center on Expressway 83 and Ware Road.

This year’s two day cookoff is part of the PalmFest International Folklife Celebration.  Crazy cooking teams will be competing for cash prizes and custom made miniature BBQ pit trophies by Camco Wheel & Axle in Pharr.
The first day of completion will be sanctioned by the International BBQ Cookers Association.  The entry categories will be brisket, pork spare ribs and half chicken.  The second day will be strictly fajitas in two categories, traditional and gourmet.
The Showmanship Award will go the cooking team that shows the most spirit and best decorated camp over the two days.
